What this data is not
- Not verified. Providers self-report to NPPES and records can be stale or wrong. Issuance of an NPI does not ensure or validate that the provider is licensed or credentialed.
- Not real-time. It is a snapshot of a monthly federal file with weekly incrementals, not a live feed.
- Not a consumer report. This is not a consumer reporting agency product and must not be used as the sole basis for credentialing, employment, privileging, payment, or exclusion decisions. Verify against the primary source.
